Cosmetic and Prosthetic  Contact Lenses

Cosmetic lenses are used to change the appearance, typically the color, of an eye.

This can be as simple as changing the color of your eyes from brown to blue for a special occasion.  Perhaps you wish to finish your favorite Halloween costume with a matching cat or vampire eye.  These are even used by today's best makeup artists for Hollywood blockbusters! The possibilities for cosmetic changes are wider than you probably imagined!

Contact lenses can also be used to reduce sun glare or to improve contrast for athletes!

Prosthetic contact lenses are used to change the appearance of an eye, typically for a medical or functional reason.

Truly the most customized soft contacts available, these lenses come in almost any size, shape and color imaginable.  Prosthetic contact lenses are prescribed to mask flaws and improve the appearance of an eye disfigured from a birth defect, trauma, or eye disease.   They can be designed to block excess light from reaching the back of the eye to reduce glare and increase comfort when desired.

Prosthetic lenses may be designed or even hand painted to match the appearance of the fellow eye, for the best cosmetic result possible. They can also be made in a wide variety of lens powers to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and/or astigmatism.

** This is not a prosthetic eye or "glass eye" which is used after an eye is surgically removed; but rather a contact lens which is worn directly on an intact eye like a standard contact lens.
